Jack is a realist (and sometimes impressionist) painter who likes to vary his subject matter and painting locales as well as his mediums. A graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC, he did post-graduate work in France and Italy and subsequently, during his graphic arts career, studied and painted evenings at the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.For 35 years Jack Williamson was president of a NYC design, art and photography studio, DiFranza-Williamson, which he founded in 1955. Since 1990, he has devoted himself full time to fine art after a long and satisfying career in the advertising-creative business. He and his wife Irene have lived in Manhattan, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and now on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Many of Jack's paintings depict scenes from these exciting and picturesque areas. They also travel widely and as a result his work often includes subject matter from around the world as well. Jack currently shows at Morris&Whiteside Galleries on Hilton Head Island. Jack's work is often shown in various exhibitions at the Greer Gallery of the Arts Center on the island as well as other regional juried shows. Much of his current inventory of paintings can be viewed at the Morris&Whiteside Galleries or by appointment at his studio and home on Hilton Head Island. Limited Edition Prints of his work can also be found at various galleries in and around Hilton Head. Prints can also be ordered through this site.
